I am completely off social media (one of the best decisions I’ve ever made), so I’m going back in time and documenting on my website some of the things I’ve done over the years!
Here’s the flyer for the first writer showcase I produced and starred in.
It was surreal. I basically got to live inside my ideal world for a couple of hours.
Two Miami stand-up comics, Adrien Hernandez and Mike Dabba, opened the show with some comedy, and then I closed the comedy-writing section of the show with some stand-up of my own.
Then came the songwriting section of the show, where I played several original songs and covers, joined at times by awesome musicians (and friends) like Tim Bang, Dan Verly, and Jordyn Paige.
While this was happening, all tables had a copy of an original essay I wrote, as well as some information about my book Bebé azul.
Also, Nicole was awesome on the soundboard, and Ashley was an awesome host.
After the show, a few of us had dinner together. Happiness!
I hope to produce future writer showcases in any city I happen to be living in.
